DVD Watched
As my real love in photography is studio work, I like the fact I can control the lights, and there are no weather elements to be concerned about, for example in the summer I took a model out and I needed the reflector held to lighten the shadows on her face, but I had no one else with me and as there was no room to put up either a tripod or the reflector stand it made for a difficult time.
I purchased Rick Sammon's DVD 'Guide to Basic Lighting and Portraiture' this was produced in 2009 by Wiley and is a very informative watch.
He goes from a very basic lighting set up to a more complex arrangement all the while explaining what each light or piece of equipment does. There is also a section of photographic make up which is something I am planning to learn about in the future, I do tell any one I am photographing to have a bit more makeup on than they would do normally as it won't look over done on the photos.
It was interesting to see how the addition of a gel over a back ground light could change the whole look, this is something to consider if you are on a very limited budget as they can be used to make it look as if you have lots of back drops.
A good DVD and one I can refer back to.
